1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Stryve Daily ("Stryve Daily," "we," "us," or "the app") handles information when you use our iOS and Android application. It applies to the app and this website. By using Stryve Daily, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Data stored on your device
Stryve Daily is local-first. The content you create — tasks, habits, streaks, lists, categories, notes, Morning Review entries, and your activity history — is stored only on your device using on-device storage. This information:
- Is not sent to our servers — we do not operate accounts or a cloud sync service.
- Is not visible to us, and we cannot access, read, or recover it.
- Can be exported by you at any time as a backup file from within the app, and restored on your device.
- Is removed when you delete the app (so we recommend exporting a backup first).
3. Data collected through the app
To keep the app free and reliable, a limited amount of data may be collected automatically by third-party services we use:
- Usage & diagnostic data: Aggregated, non-identifying information about how the app performs and which screens are used, to help us fix bugs and improve the app.
- Crash data: Technical reports generated if the app crashes, so we can diagnose and fix problems.
- Device identifiers & advertising identifiers: Used by our advertising provider to serve ads. On iOS, access to the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) is only available if you grant permission through Apple's tracking prompt (see Section 5).
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-party services
Stryve Daily uses the following third-party services, which may process limited data as described above:
- Google AdMob — serves ads in the free version of the app. As described in Google's Mobile Ads SDK documentation, AdMob may collect: your IP address (used to estimate general location); crash logs and diagnostic data; performance data such as app launch time, hang rate, and energy usage; a device identifier, such as the advertising identifier or app/developer-bounded identifiers; advertising data, such as which ads you have seen; and product-interaction data, such as taps and video views. This data is used to deliver and measure ads and for related analytics and fraud prevention. With your permission (via the App Tracking Transparency prompt), the data may include the IDFA. See Google's Privacy Policy for full details on its data practices.
- Analytics & crash reporting — used to understand app stability and general usage patterns in an aggregated form.
These providers act as independent controllers or processors of the data they collect under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
5. Ad tracking & consent
iOS (14.5 and later): Stryve Daily presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before the advertising service is initialized. You can choose to allow or deny tracking:
- If you deny tracking, the app and its ad provider will not access your device's advertising identifier, and you may see less relevant ads.
- If you allow tracking, the ad provider may use your advertising identifier to deliver and measure personalized ads.
- You can change this choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Android: Stryve Daily uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present a consent request before advertising is initialized, in compliance with Google's requirements. You can update your ad privacy choices anytime in the app's Settings.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access & portability: Because your content lives on your device, you can view it anytime and export a backup file from within the app.
- Deletion: Delete individual items in the app, or remove all app data by deleting the app from your device.
- Ad tracking: Control tracking through the consent prompt on your platform as described above.
- Notifications: Manage reminders and notifications in your device's Settings.
7. GDPR & EU/UK users
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws, including the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability.
Because your core content is stored only on your device, you exercise most of these rights directly through the app. For data processed by our advertising and analytics providers, our legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and free. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, before personalized ads are served we present a consent message through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform integrated with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF). On iOS, this is presented alongside Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can grant or refuse consent there, and you may withdraw consent at any time via your device Settings or by resetting the consent message in the app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. International data transfers
The content you create in Stryve Daily is stored only on your device and is not transferred to us or across borders. However, the third-party advertising and analytics providers described in Section 4 (such as Google AdMob) may process limited data — for example device and advertising identifiers, usage, and crash data — on servers located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
Where such transfers occur, they are carried out under appropriate safeguards as required by GDPR, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions). These providers act under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them for details of their transfer mechanisms. You may also request more information about these safeguards using the contact details below.
9. Children's privacy
Stryve Daily is rated 4+ on the App Store and rated Everyone on Google Play, and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may be communicated in the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
